carceral capacity and carceral infrastructure--jails, prisons, detention centers, cop cities, police forces, ICE, DHS, sheriff's offices, surveillance tech, fusion centers, real time crime centers, & more--are all part of the same system, and they all have to go if we are truly to be free together

the brutal state repression ramping up in Western states around the world makes clear that police, prisons, and border violence serve and have always served to facilitate racial, gendered, and economic violence. abolition, not reform, is the only way forward.

This is correct and it's why public opinion doesn't actually do anything on its own. It has to be mobilized. You have to DO politics.
