The most insanely frustrating thing about the #ClimateCrisis is how the breakthrough we so clearly need isn’t technological. It’s just a collective willingness, a determination even, to change in ways that would clearly be SO MUCH BETTER than the clear and obvious consequences of NOT changing.

140,000 brave people ventured into the deserted crime ridden streets of Melbourne last night, many ate at restaurants, drank at pubs, then went to the cricket or an Oasis concert and the worst thing that happened was an Oasis flash mob choir. πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ€

Shire suggests blowing up dead whale as alternative to expensive disposal A coastal shire in WA suggests towing a rotting whale carcass out to sea and blowing it up, saying it cannot afford to dispose of the whale itself.

Lol it is clear that no one on Waroona Shire council is on the internet. I so hope they do this.

Every time there's a new series (Jason) of Taskmaster I think "oh this might be the underwhelming one" and somehow it never is. Maisie is SO furious, Reece is always angry, Sanjeev is giving "Captain Jackie and the Hot Dog" vibes while Phil and Ania who I'd never heard of are just lovely. So. Good.

Over the last few years I've gone from thinking Halloween was a stupid American import to loving how much my neighbourhood gets into it. The local businesses run a big trick or treat and roads are closed for it. It's incredibly wholesome fun.

Who at the ABC wrote, then approved, the words "ceasefire will hold" over an image of Palestinian bodies? Also, how much deference should the media give to Trump given his government continues to provide bombs to kill Palestinians?

kind of annoys me when people use the aesthetics of graffiti to show they're edgy and cool while also calling for more punitive laws, which punish the graffiti artists who give that aesthetic its cultural meaning

One of best things about this Graham Bleathman cutaway of Thunderbird 5 is the way it spells out the huge size of International Rescue’s satellite. You can see how John Tracy lives up there for months at a time. Just hoovering the place could fill the days up.

Labor digging into taxpayers' pockets to bail out Rio Tinto again The government can't hide its frustration with Rio Tinto, but at the same time it's preparing to dip deeper into taxpayers' pockets to help the company out. Again.

Government gave Qantas $2.7 billion and we didn't even take a stake.

If a private enterprise needs public money to survive, then it should become a public enterprise. If it's important enough for us to prop it up, then it's important enough for us to control it.
