She ignores me for a week after the kiss on the beach. I’m sure she’s finding her equilibrium again, but it annoys the fuck out of me. She doesn’t realize how quickly she’s become my center of everything. And the way she’s depriving me of her makes me feel like I’m collapsing in on myself.

I wonder if the prequel short story that I didn’t read gives the characters the depth they seem to be lacking in the book I’m reading. But I don’t care enough about them to figure it out. I just think that I’m 50% through and the only reason they have for doing things is “romance reasons.”
