Those might be the reasons for some but not mine. As a UK, US and German citizen, any of those countries would be home. She is thinking of Germany for grad school.

Oh, and she enjoys learning again. Probably the most important thing.

And she now has a nearly perfect GPA and has learned theory, not just test answers.

Because the testing culture here destroyed my child’s mental health. She is massively happier now. If she returned, she would have to start over. Plus, you can’t apply for Oxbridge if your predicted grades aren’t all A*s so even if you get them in the end, you are not able to go there.

Yeah, I sent my American daughter to University of Washington this past year. I need to have a talk with her when she gets home (UK). She needs to think about transferring to a Canadian university. UK is too different for that to work.

It is affecting a huge number of people. US universities have very large proportions of foreign student.

I know. I have to get my daughter out of there stat.

I am supposed to go to a talk with UK students in July to promote study in the US in general and Harvard in particular. Messaged the woman who invited me earlier as this is now totally pointless. At the moment she is in denial. I will back out. I can’t recommend it even if this is rescinded.

That was my thought. A sort of university in exile. I am sure it will be debated. As an alum, I am expecting an email over night explaining their strategy and date for a for call with the President of Harvard to solicit the support of alumni.

General strike

South Africa knows better. The rest of the world needs to take action to protect their own security.

People keep saying he should be sent back to South Africa but I’m sure they don’t want him and they have done nothing to deserve that. Maybe he should be made stateless, rather than trying to make some babies born in the US stateless as the regime is so keen on doing.

They probably don’t want to pay for proper market researchers so know nothing about who their customers are. Not that they don’t have a shit load of data from collecting customer phone numbers at check out but you would then need to hire analytics people to understand it.

On the BBC, they were saying you can’t look away. I beg to differ.
