Thought about just making it a Duress for the event but it played well the weekend before when we last drafted the cube so I left it. It usually goes late for the reason you stated just not sure of the "wow factor" of the discard card is worth the "rules"overhead and overall experience.

Out here at the Hunter Burton Memorial. It's such an amazing event that more people should know about and attend.

Yeah. The way my (Halt's) locals look at 4/5 is that 4s are what you play in the Monday night "random" cEDH pods but 5s are for the large events we have access to here and there. And that seems to align pretty well with the way you see things and it makes sense.

One of the most fun things we've seen recently, financially, is this nostalgia push into Pre-Modern. Goblins, the white control finishers, Zombies, and various sideboard pieces all moving speaks of a format that was recently invigorated.

Definitely worth keeping an eye on.
