Look on the bright side. You don't have a 2 month old baby that screams every time you set her down to pack a box or a 3 year old that thinks it's fun to lay down in the middle of the hallway while you're carrying heavy shit. Lol.

This will be my 19th move in the last 12 years. Hopefully this one will stick for a while.

Just finished packing books for our move... Forty-Four boxes. And what's wild is I check stuff out from the Library for the vast majority of my reading.

Power out this morning since five. Something very pleasant about making coffee on my patio with a camping stove. I should this more often.

Been operating at maximum stress level for 3-4 months, and now it's time to start packing for a move in two weeks, but don't have anywhere to move into yet... Cross your fingers and toes for me this weekend. Need some good news.

Love when I start work on a new story and ideas for it start coming to me all throughout the day. One of my favorite parts of being a writer.

I just finished a draft of a short story, and I'm questioning if I've somehow crossed a line. Like I feel like it needs trigger warnings, only there's nothing specific to warn about. It's just that fucked up... You all are going to love it.

I'm the same way. We get earthquake warnings and I always feel mildly disappointed when I don't feel them. There is something wrong with me.

Writing today feels like trying to eat soup with a fork.

Last year I got, "Dear [Author's Name], Thank you for submitting your story, [Story Name], unfortunately..."

I understand mistakes are made, but sometimes I feel like editors forget there are humans with hopes and dreams on the other side of rejection letters.

Yeah. Going to be moving from California to Washington state next month.
