I need everyone to understand that this is happening everywhere, all the time here. It's not isolated. Entire communities plan their days around helping neighbors who need assistance. There's no central organizing for it all; it's hundreds of independent networks.

Thinking about local pride again today and how yeah, it can be the most absurd, cringeworthy thing, but it also gets thousands and thousands of Minnesotans to show up for their neighbors on a day when there's an extreme cold advisory.
