This is a transmission electron micrograph of a t-even family E. coli phage. The capsid head is visible as a dark spot in the upper lefthand corner with the tail protruding from it. The tail fibers are also just visible.
My Experimental Microbiology students have all successfully cultured their phage! And thanks to the U Delaware Bioimaging Core we have really nice TEM images. Next step, genome sequencing. π§ͺ#MoBiol

I prefer the simpler Eppendorf M4 repeaters as they arenβt electronic (they have a battery but itβs only for the screen). Plus you can get calibrated used ones for $350ish. I still have a OG West German 4780 model too but finding tips that still fit is challenging. Never needed calibration though.
