it's funny, in years past I would pore over every single detail. all the elements would have to be just right, everything at the same ridiculous standard. to think of the time wasted on meticulously cleaning up linework. now in post-AI times, I find myself appreciating the warmth of little mistakes

it's done, and i'm posting it. called a last minute audible and decided to color it irl instead of digital, which I'm trying to do more of these days. this has kind of a nice weird visual effect that (sadly) doesn't translate to a flat scan, but that didn't stop me from also doing that

it's 3am again. there needs to be some kinda like internet bartender who cuts me off after too many scrolls. here's a thing I've been doing about a cat who's a little on edge, much like myself

originally it served to separate Bushwick and Newtown (now Ridgewood). True borough ownership over it has been a bit of a dispute since its excavation.

one day I was walking around Maspeth and saw a rock just as big in the middle of the road. idk, seems like we have enough giant rocks to go around

the original thought was simply that "arbitration rock" would make a kickass name for an album. I didn't exactly endeavor to make the hypothetical cover for that album, but just played around in that sandbox for a bit, I guess. Arbitration Rock is an actual monument in Queens.

I often find myself in this strange phenomenon of beginning a drawing with a loose concept in mind and, through the process of creating it, finding it take on a strange relevance to things happening around me. I feel like there's probably a word for this in another language.

feels like forever since i've had time to draw something completely random. they used to call it 'daydreaming.' anyway here's a new thing cooking:

some process shots. the grip/shape of the hand bothered me early on and by the time I was done rendering the background, I decided to re-do it completely. I like that you can see my pencil whittle down to basically nothing by the end
