I have uterine fibroids that causes excessive bleeding and fatigue, POTs and PTSD from Covid turning into long covid and causing my health problems. I was working two jobs prior to not working until it caught up to me and I ended up in the ER with a heart rate that wouldn't slow down until I had to take medication. I have been trying to get on disability since. A year later I started to caretake for my disabled child by myself as well. I had help previously but it wasn't working out and I've had to do a lot of it on my own, now I'm stuck in a situation where working isn't possible for my health and while I'm already caretaking for my disabled child that needs constant care. I did not ever envision this happening to me and have always worked hard to take care of my family but now l'm in what feels like an impossible situation trying my best to take care of my kids and myself so I can stay around for them as long as possible. If you want to do a thing to help immigrant farm workers, do this. The heat in places like the Central Valley of CA is brutal. My mom told me a story of getting really sick in the fields as a teen in the 60s. Her bosses took care of her, but to her it was bc she was born here & they feared blowback.
