X: Why are so many organisations leaving? Many organisation have recently announced that they will no longer be posting on their X accounts.

Twitter/X: Organisations, inc media outlets, locals councils, and charities have chosen to no longer post on the platform as it "really flew in the face" of their values. Remaining on the platform poses a "serious risk of reputational harm".

Hope few #NZ orgs remain. πŸ‘€

My cat is smarter than my teenagers. She turns up for dinner every night at 7pm sharp when the family meal is served, and goes to eat from her bowl. My boys need to be told that dinner is ready, and when you knock on their bedroom door, they’re like β€œwut??” - every single night.

β€œFan” is probably a strong word but I don’t complain about it because I do complain about the cold (despite being Canadian) and I reckon you can’t have it both ways.

…accomodation is comfy and luxurious, food is all prepped and healthy (and plentiful!), bags are transported. You literally only have to worry about the walking part. I did this one on my own but there were 5 other women on the same trek. The solitude was soothing for the soul.

Another adventure, this time on the Nuku Walk in King Country - 30km over 2 1/2 days. At risk of sounding like an NZ tourism advert, I’m onto a very good thing with these private walks.

I’m re-watching The Night Manager Series 1 in preparation for Series 2 coming out, and am realising that Jonathan Pine / Tom Quince / Andrew Birch didn’t actually do much night managing.

I’ll never forget our first summer in the North Island, we went to Hahei and were surrounded by Wellingtonians. I was aghast that so many people would drive so far to camp. But I’ve come to understand that the lower North Island is not so blessed with lovely beaches.

I once muttered something to that effect under my breath after a similar day… my youngest then ran off and made this. Very sweet. πŸ₯Ή

Mr 18, over desert tonight, said his friends think it’s strange that we sit down as a family to have dinner together every night. But also how much he appreciates it. Is no one doing this anymore? It’s been something important to our little family unit and I’m so glad we still do it.

Made it to Parakiore, the new pools in Christchurch - amazing facility and great value for money, but a wee bit of advice: you need to book the slides in advance! Boys loved the drop slide. I loved having a whole lane and most of a pool to myself for an hour. πŸŠπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
