Caput Mortum was an extremely neat King's Field inspired horror game I played last month, incredibly atmospheric, where the central gimmick is using the player character's hand to interact with the game's world and solve puzzles. And right now it's only got 157 reviews? It deserves way more!

I managed to get in contact with them, and it turns out they'd already removed the artificial streams.
So it was a bit weird my distributor was telling me I had to find the playlists when they'd already been taken down

This is so good

You joke, but this litterally happened with one of my other tracks.
It was clearly one person, and they listened to it over two thousand times in one day.
The worst past is the track was called “Friend-less”… I hope they’re okay

Think I may have resolved this, so will delete this thread shortly!

Spotify Artist screen shot, showing a graph for the last year. Most days are low, close to 0 steams, apart from one huge peak on August 19th 2025, with 646 streams

The only suspicious thing is on August 19th it randomly got over 600 streams in a day when it usually only gets like 10.

But I have no idea how to find out more or do anything about it?

Anyone have any experience or idea what to do?

It says it can happen either if I've paid for streams (I haven't), or if someone added it to a "suspicious playlist without your knowledge"

I checked and the top playlists for the last 12 months are all spotify generated...? The highest non-spotify generated playlist this year has 23 streams

Another horror game that without a "story mode" difficulty I'd have never got around to finishing (I keep dying) and like Still Wakes the Deep the accessible nature means I can play it.
It's packed with classic references, twisty puzzles and a great story. Highly recommend 👍

One of my favourite games from 2024, this is an incredible indie Survival Horror gem that has some ingenious puzzles, a magnificent artstyle, and if you're just wanting to dip your toes into the genre but you're scared, it can be played in an exploration mode without combat.
