Why are members of the House of Lords allowed to own lobbying firms in the first place ?!! This is completely absurd.

In France, that would be illegal.

£240m. With no tender. Palantir.

I wrote to Wes Streeting last week demanding answers.

Every day without any transparency deepens the scandal.

Palantir out.

"The British Medical Association (BMA) has said its members could refuse to use parts of the system citing Palantir’s role in targeting ICE raids in the US."

The problem with these Palantir deals is not primarily data security.

It's the fact we are creating single points of failure in the NHS, armed forces, and police. Palantir has massive leverage over essential information and logistics systems. A bad idea....

This is the inevitable result of hiring without filter the worst and most pathetic men in the country and then giving them guns, military cosplay, total impunity, and a monthly cruelty quota they can't hope to meet unless they snatch up everyone they see.

The Representation of the People Bill contains lots to be happy about.

Measures to boost participation & stop foreign interference are very welcome.

But there's more still to do to give the public confidence that the rules are enforced independently & political power cannot be bought. 🧵

Trump’s EPA repeals landmark climate finding in gift to ‘billionaire polluters’ Rollback of government’s ability to limit climate-heating pollution will make families ‘sicker and less safe’, environmental advocate says * US politics live – latest updates The Trump administration has revoked the bedrock scientific determination that gives the government the ability to regulate climate-heating pollution. The move was described as a gift to “billionaire polluters” at the expense of Americans’ health. The endangerment finding, which states that the buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere endangers public health and welfare, has since 2009 allowed the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to limit heat-trapping pollution from vehicles, power plants and other industrial sources. The local MP for East Thanet has reacted with fury to a tweet by Reform UK’s Cabinet Member for Economic Development threatening to pull funding from Margate’s Turner Contemporary Gallery in an act of ‘naked retribution’ for holding his council to account.

This week, Polly Billington MP revealed Freedom of Information (FOI) disclosures showing that Reform UK’s claim they had saved Kent taxpayers £39.5 million by cancelling net zero projects was not supported by council documentation.

But instead of admitting the false figures and committing to stop using them, Cllr David Wimble – who is responsible for funding for the gallery – tweeted, “perhaps we could pull funding for her lovely turner contemporary?... Polly suck it up.”

The Turner has contributed more than £100 million to the economy of Thanet, and has welcomed more than 4.8 million visitors since it was opened.

Khanna: There were two rounds of redactions. There was the original FBI redactions… and they did a second round of redactions at the DOJ. What they’re showing members now is the unredacted version of the DOJ’s redactions—not the original FBI redactions. They’re in blatant violation of the law.
