When I should have been learning all that allegedly important stuff, that must have been when I was appearing on Juuuuunior Kickstart.
Billion suns versus an inconvenient habit of making formal complaints, I wonder which they'd prefer. Running word count for complaints in this job is somewhere north of 15K & if I put that much effort into doing actual work, they'd benefit a lot more than they do from throwing their weight around 🥊🥊
As I recall it from the first time around, one thing that is going to jar against more modern sensibilities is the Olympic levels of smoking.
It tells you everything you need to know about the times that it made not just a second but also a third full series and at no point after the first show, never mind first series, did anybody think to say 'hold on a minute, are we really sure about this?'
Mind Your Language is currently showing way down the channels list on That's TV 2. I watched a couple of episodes from morbid curiosity & in the interests of science, mostly to see if I can spin my eyeballs as fast as the reels in a fruit machine by the number of times I raise my eyebrows.
Still, at least there's the #MAFSUK reunion show to divert and entertain me on a sunday evening.
Not quite so exciting looking in daylight but visibly mixed ancient and modern. Streets... big... town... like a city. Etc.

Sure it's a deliberate joke I'm playing on myself going looking for ghosts but that doesn't make it not funny. Walking on a road I've not walked in thirty years is definitely funny in multiple ways, and funnier than #TotP for sure. Anyway...

He was on The Hustle late last year for anyone who wants to hear more recently direct from the man himself. I thought that was a fine listen but you're right, there's a lot of his work over the decades to get to grips with. Busy guy!

That's fair enough - I don't mind doing another 10 minutes to finish something off properly instead of three quarters of an hour to pick up the train of thought and detail again the next day. But I'll have my 10 minutes back & probably another 5 for the effort when it suits me, that's my key need.
Manoeuvring into a position where you control whatever you can control is what mitigates against you being only a victim\subject of the nonsense. That's not always possible and even just different nonsense somewhere else can be a relief. I say this as someone of lifelong low ambition and standards.
