Instagram algorithm has decided that I’m an older woman with ADHD and a drinking problem who is obsessed with vintage recipes, makeup tutorials, and cats.

This semester, I retook the class that almost made me drop out of grad school a year ago when I was going through divorce. This class had me convinced grad school was insurmountable & my life was falling apart. Final grades came in for this semester: 100. I can’t express how much this A means to me.

My teen book club wrapped up after two years. The group gave me a really lovely gift. It’s very nice, sometimes, to feel like what you do matters.

Yes! It feels like social media has just become a giant commercial or misinformation engine. Like nothing here is related to real life or people, so I’m inherently not interested.

I have that same screenplay copy! A neighbor bought it for me when I was 11 because she knew I was obsessed with the film.

I think anytime an author waits decades to write a sequel to something is usually a bad sign. Atwood did the same with Handmaid’s Tale, and that book was like fan fiction. You’re a different author entirely after that many years.

When I was in eating disorder hell, I had a habit of taking pictures of myself and emailing them with mean subject lines. I have since made a concerted effort to find all of these and delete, but every now and then I find another one. It’s sad reckoning with how much I hated myself.

We are going to have to make so many new laws when this asshole is deposed.
