12.02.2026 03:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0And you would love the Drizzt books I think, based on your other choices. I'll be interested to hear your opinion once you get to them. Some of my all-time favorites for sure!
And there's soooo many of them. You could stay in that world for many years, even reading rapidly.
Ooh great choices! Zedd!!! I haven't thought about him in years. What a great character he is.

Odyssey of the Twins, a novel by Troy Preston Dillon
My novel is now officially out in e-book form! ๐ฅณ

It's also been released on a bunch of other websites, in e-book and paperback form, so I've created a central webpage to house all the links. Check it out!

Yikes. Sold my first book through Ingram. Exciting, right? Then I looked at my commission...62 cents. ๐
I'm starting to see firsthand why so many writers on here talk about financial struggles. The author gets the tiniest fraction of what a book sells for. It shouldn't be this way.
Thank you very much! ๐
07.02.2026 01:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That's a huge struggle in my area as well, for dogs and cats. I take in dogs a lot, and it can be a bearcat getting a rescue or vet involved. Every shelter and rescue is full to overflowing. The Dallas shelter seems to hover around 125-150% capacity all the time, and euthanizes frequently. ๐

Rather than post a bunch of links, I've made a central author website that has them all, and I'm updating as more are added. So exciting! Here's the link:

For sure, it was very sexist. It was like a textbook for how not to treat people (but I'm afraid it was taken as the opposite). Thankfully there's a lot of books and shows out there that are more positive examples!

(This is the paperback version. Coming soon to Barnes and Noble and Goodreads and lots of other places as well, Amazon was just the fastest. E-book coming soon also.)
Dragons of Autumn Twilight was the first fantasy novel I ever read, in 6th grade. It opened my eyes to a whole new world, and I never looked back. I've read hundreds of other fantasy novels since, and loved every second!
And here's my debut novel, just released ๐

My debut novel just came out (!!!), so I'm working on next steps...getting it listed on Goodreads, doing a little marketing, that kind of thing. Exciting stuff! (although very daunting)
31.01.2026 18:48 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Wow. That is powerful. ๐
31.01.2026 17:34 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Stories that teach moral values, even subtly, are important. Young people especially can learn valuable lessons about empathy, compassion, etc. from stories. We, the storytellers, can help shape the morality of the future.
31.01.2026 16:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I know a lot of people loved the show, but to me a big example is Married with Children. I hated that show. I suppose it had a more playful purpose, but to me it was everything bad about our society...like a firehose of it. Every character was sarcastic, shallow, and rude. It set a terrible example.
31.01.2026 16:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0And conversely, they see the actions of the bad characters, and are repulsed by it. In a world where people are fed a hateful and twisted version of how they should act (most obviously by a few TV networks, but you could even look at some shows or movies that glorify bad behavior), this is huge.
31.01.2026 16:45 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The big reason that jumps to mind for me is morality. Books, movies, etc...most have moral lessons. In a world where right now people's morality is a concern, I think this is more important than ever. They see the actions of good characters, and want to emulate them.
31.01.2026 16:42 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Ohh ya, I've broken those rules many many times.
29.01.2026 05:32 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Impressive! I've had some writing binges like that, but it's been years ago now. Hope you had fun!
