Hi Margaret, thank you for sharing this story. May I ask: on what basis is Ancestry demanding access to the records gratis?

This is such a big step for you, but I know few other people that would represent people with such compassion and respect. And, as we all see around us, those are two values that we should promote more than anything else whatever our political views.

Good luck and soak up the experience!

Peter, we need voices like yours to articulate clearly the risks of this sort of thing. It’s bloody disheartening but we need people who can argue against the marketing BS & the endless parroting of Venture Capital talking points by elected leaders

Fantastic to get my hands on the physical copies of the latest issue of "The Historian" @histassoc.bsky.social!

It was a pleasure to work with my @openarc.bsky.social colleagues Dr Charlotte Brownhill & Dr Sara Wolfson on this special issue to mark the 400th anniversary of Charles I's accession.

Sad it isn't a story but we're now numb to voter apathy in LE elections. Is the average turnout in local authority and mayoral elections in England for the past few elections about 33%?

This is a bit hyperbolic but I despise that piece of software. You've given me another reason to dislike it!

So long as you don't need serious annotation functions, try Okular by KDE. Good performance, open source and no machine learning bloat.

A two-page magazine spread. It contains two pictures: one of a Church in Scotland. Another of the frontispiece of a seventeenth-century printed text. The rest of the page contains text.

The proofs for the next issue of The Historian (@histassoc.bsky.social) have arrived!

It has been a pleasure to work with my OU colleagues Charlotte Brownhill & Sara Wolfson on this issue on the life and legacy of Charles I.

Thank you, Jenni Hyde for the opportunity! @wallyberry.bsky.social

I lost sleep over those sermons. Desperate to transcribe them, given Lindsay's importance at the early Covenanter General Assemblies.
