I feel that rolling dice could give more agency to the players and what is going on.

It's one of the things that intregued me about the Fantasy Flight SW books was idea of the WEG wild die taken to a storytelling level that got everyone involved

One used to get cool things with your games (which were $80 way back then too) to help solve things like the lack of in game maps.

Cloth maps like these you'd use to manually pin where cool stuff was that you found. This one came from the classic Ultima 4

It was a game I adore but timed so absolutely wrong. All multi player when the market still wanted a story to play, amazing multiplayer code but most connections weren't still good enough, missed out on 3d accelerated support at launch, it was a 3d game but reclyled a lot of old and bland 2d art.

That would be correct. Maya uses a weighted smoothing so it should give you some pretty decent normal output as a result of hard or smooth edges that you set. There might be some scripts to do some more advanced normals, but by default this is what you have access to.

If they can retcon out "The Black" and Pacific Rim 2 I will be extremely happy. Pacific Rim 2 tries to be in the universe but feels out of place, but The Black is just a horrific fanfic made real that Netflix should be ashamed of.

I remember when this project was first announced & the art team did a 2 hour session at GDC showing the concept art and the story each image told. It was an amazing session to have that let you just unwind and enjoy this work. I am glad that they've been able to continue this process w/ art books
