I hear ya but there’s so little that many of us can do. Stewing in despair isn’t going to stop the madness. I can’t blame anyone for trying to focus on the stuff that doesn’t make them want to scream. I’m pretty desperate for outlets of normalcy myself.

I remember just a couple years ago when various people in the games media repeatedly came to the defense of the Microsoft acquisition spree, implying that people were just mad because they were Sony fanboys. Now the same people are so upset at the obvious & inevitable results. Makes my blood boil.

I wish I liked Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 as much as everyone else. I really loved the first few hours but 20ish hours in and I’m really souring on it.

At the very least the horrendous platforming levels should disqualify it from any game of the year talk, optional or not.

Several hours into playing Split Fiction with my kid and while the writing is 6/10 at best, the gameplay is absolutely insane.

The most inventive, exciting and fun shit I’ve done with a controller in ages. It’s like Astrobot and Portal 2 co-op had a baby and hired Warioware to be the nanny. 11/10!

I have probably put too much thought into it. lol. I love part 2. It’s smart and goes very purposeful, challenging places. But as a dad Part 1 had that instant, easy, emotional hook that I connected to more. Also, it’s half as long so I’ve replayed it way more often.

I’m pro-TLoU Pt2 but I’m not sure reactions can even be correlated between the game and series given how neutered Joel was in S1 of the show, as well as some of the subtle yet fundamental changes to the story.

IMO, a S2 that is faithful to Pt2 wouldn’t fit with the version of the story told in S1.

Went to see Mickey 17 and that new Thunderbolts teaser was wild. I never thought I’d see Marvel trying to convince everyone that their new movie is an A24 joint.

I’m angry about staring at a wall for 90 minutes while public domain cartoons play in the background. I can’t stress enough how much I hate Skinamarink.

The “slow burn dread” of that movie was the dawning realization that I was trapped in a movie theater watching the worst movie I’d seen since Albert Pyun made an alien abduction movie that was just 90 minutes of unbroken dash cam footage driving back and forth over the same half mile of desert road.

I hate them all but the black one does look less stupid than the “Fingerprints on rust” edition.

IMO Fil at the “Wings of Pegasus” channel on YouTube is doing THE most important work in the music industry right now - exposing all the pitch correction, lip syncing and other fakery being used in the studio, on TikTok and even “live” on stage at huge concert tours.

I just need to follow up by saying that I love John Woo and action movies of the last 30 years would not be the same without him. He influenced everyone who came after him and transformed an entire genre.

But a guy who’s afraid of white has to battle someone in milk. That’s fucking ludicrous.

OMG the truly awful 1990s TV movie/failed pilot “Blackjack” by John Woo, starring Dolph Lundgren is streaming on Filmrise.

This is a movie where the hero has a paralyzing fear of *the color white* and has to fight someone in a vat of milk at a dairy factory.

Because of my job I google (or, actually I Bing as I somehow see M$ as less problematic than the Googs) so much weird, random stuff, I really wonder what kind of profile the data brokers have gathered for me.

The worst is when you finally see tickets pop up after all that and try to put them in your cart and it bugs out because 1000 people are trying to grab those same tix at the exact same moment.

Bummer. I know that it’s a pain but retrying for 15 or 20 minutes can pay off now and then. Often times there are people who will put them in their cart and then not buy them for one reason or another.

It’s a crapshoot (and not always worth the stress) but I have landed tickets to shows this way.

Has anybody else noticed their iOS Mail working like shit after turning off all the #AppleIntelligence crap? I find the features intrusive and obnoxious so I turned them off but now it takes FOREVER for my emails to load.

Feels like it’s stuck looking for the AI shit and can’t find it.
