Yes, the careful use of language is important, and I find it baffling that this apparently was a lesson for professional journalists. No one should've been surprised by the reaction. The program clearly aimed to be provocative, but it crossed a line it should not have crossed.

Ian, this is way beyond talking things out. I don't care what the Americans think. They are threatening our sovereignty. The answer is NO. You can't reason with madness. We need to move to protect ourselves, like yesterday. The door on discussion was closed by the Americans when they elected Trump.

You're actually mistaken about that. Horseshoe Falls is divided between the two countries, but Canada has the bigger share.

Another silver lining is that I no longer assume someone's part of the convoy crowd when I see them with a Canadian flag. It's nice to have our flag back 🇨🇦
