My first-ever NBA game, and it featured 5 (at least) future HOF players, and a home win to boot. Crazy to look back on those memories after tonight.

My heart aches for Haliburton, but whatever the nature of the injury, I know that dude will eventually be back with a vengeance. He’s the king of clutch moments and comebacks… he’ll rehab hard and come back from this, too. I fully believe that.

Thx - been following them since seeing the KD/Russ/Harden team beat the Suns w/ Steve Nash, Amar’e Stoudemire, and Grant Hill back when I was in HS, in April ‘10. Been there for all the highs, lows, near misses… this championship means the world to these fans, and to this city. It’s incredible.

Is there *any* chance it’s just a sprain and hyperextension, not a full tear? It looked awful, obviously, but I would love for it to be something that’s not as bad as what it looked like. That was such a brutal thing to see - coming from a Thunder fan, who’s celebrating the win, Hali is a warrior.

One game. No excuses, no second chances, no more margin for error. One last game. Show up, play your very best, leave it all out on the court, and you’ll probably be champions at the end of the night. No athlete could ever ask for more than that.

People whine about the calls and FTAs that he gets, but the reality is, if SGA is just gaming the system (as detractors claim), rather than utilizing an elite blend of athleticism, skill, savvy, and basketball IQ, why don’t other players do the same things?

Answer: because they can’t. SGA is 1/1.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - as of Game 4 of the 2025 NBA Finals featuring SGA’s Oklahoma City Thunder against the Indiana Pacers - has scored 30+ points in 14 different games over the course of the 2025 NBA postseason, something that’s only been done eight previous times in NBA history. The other six players that have had 14+ such games in any single NBA postseason are Michael Jordan (twice: 16 in 1992 and 14 in ‘98), Hakeem Olajuwon (16 in 1995), Kobe Bryant (twice: 15 in 2009 and 14 in ‘10), Allen Iverson (14 in 2001), LeBron James (14 in 2017), and Kawhi Leonard (14 in 2019) - four players currently in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, and two others who are still active players that will certainly be in the Hall of Fame once eligible.

SGA is the real MVP. Last night was approx. 43 min. of virtually nothing going right for OKC on offense, and (despite very strong defensive schemes against Haliburton and the Pacers) very little going their way on D. And then, in clutch time, SGA broke through to close out the game. Legendary stuff.

And, the players all seem to genuinely love playing with each other. It’s not just a job for them: it’s a joy. That’s such a rarity in professional sports. Blessed to be alive to see it, as someone who has followed this team since it arrived in ‘08, through all of the many ups and downs.

Honestly: if you are a fan of the game Dr. Naismith invented, I genuinely don’t see how you could *not* love watching this current OKC team play. It’s the way the game is supposed to be played. They are poetry in motion.

This Thunder team has no egos, no divas, no sense of entitlement. They’re unselfish. They hustle until the end: in tight games, down 30, up 30, doesn’t matter. They work harder on defense, as a unit, than any team in recent NBA history. They consistently make smart plays on offense. It’s beautiful.

I know there are empirical datasets for fouling when up by three, but those FTs will never not feel terrifying in this type of context.

As an OKC fan, I wish I shared your feeling of inevitability… it’s 12:14 am CDT, and my heart rate is *just* starting to get back down to normal… Crazy game, all the way around.

Your boy Jokić gets away with SO MANY no-calls on offense, with his Marshawn Lynch-style stiff arms, y’all Nuggets fans have precisely ZERO room to jaw about calls and non-calls against other NBA players. That is nonsense.

It’s insane that Dort didn’t make an All-Defensive team before this season. He should have been on last year FOR SURE, and there’s an excellent argument to be made for his inclusion in the 2022 and ‘23 seasons, as well.
