05.08.2025 15:24 β π 10 π 6 π¬ 1 π 0Building an incomplete network is like building a cafe in the middle of a farmerβs field. If we want people to be able to get around the city how they please, we need to build a complete, connected, and safe network.
Weird dead ends like this say, βWe know we shouldβ¦ but we just donβt care.β
79 days until Calgarians head to the polls on October 20. Your voice matters. Iβm ready to listen and work with you to build a safer, more affordable, and connected city. Letβs make every day count!
03.08.2025 18:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Every kid should be able to walk to school safely. Roads need to work for everyone β drivers, walkers, cyclists, and people with mobility aids. Slower intersections, raised crosswalks, and smart traffic calming can make a real difference. What would make your streets safer?

We need to reverse this trend and the policies contributing to it immediately.

Caiβs right β Calgary is growing fast, and we need to plan smarter.
β More housing options in every neighbourhood
β Reliable, safe public transit
β Streets that work for everyone
β Support for local businesses
β Stronger public spaces and services.
Letβs build a city that works for everyone.
This evening, we rode with @criticalmassyyc.bsky.social in memory of the man who was killed last week at 26th Avenue and 32nd Street SW. Everyone deserves to be able to travel safely around our city - no matter how they choose to get around.
26.07.2025 03:30 β π 14 π 5 π¬ 0 π 1Cars work well for many β but not everyone can drive, or afford to.
Kids, newcomers, seniors, people with disabilities rely on transit every day. When itβs unreliable or unsafe, it cuts people off from work, school, and community. We need a system that works for everyone.
Yesterdayβs traffic is a perfect example of why we need redundancy and options in our transport networks. When construction and weather interrupt our plans, we need choices.
23.07.2025 23:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Calgary Transit had 101M+ riders in 2024 β a record year. But behind every number is someone getting to class, work, or home.
Thatβs why Iβm running: to fight for better routes, safer stops & reliable service. Letβs build a city that moves everyone forward.
Everyone should feel safe and at ease walking through their city. Wider sidewalks, better lighting, safer school routes, and public spaces arenβt luxuries β theyβre essentials. Letβs build a Calgary where quality of life is part of the plan. Letβs get it done.

18.07.2025 02:01 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 022% of Ward 11 residents were already spending over 30% of their income on housing in 2021 β and itβs only gotten worse. Families, older adults, young people β everyoneβs feeling the pressure. Housing shouldnβt be a luxury. Itβs time to put people first.

What I like about Alex is that he believes in delivering simple, safe solutions for our streets, practical improvements to public transport, and improved safety in school zones.
All these things are doable. So lets do them. www.alexwilliamsyyc.ca
Thank you, as always, for your support, Holly! Iβm glad I get to work with people like you to make Calgary an awesome place to call home!
08.07.2025 18:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Everyone should be able to move through the city safely.
We need smart design, clear mode separation, and accessible sidewalks. Because safety isnβt extra β itβs how we build a city that works for all of us.
Did you know my entire campaign is powered by volunteers? No oneβs paid β and that humbles me every day. These are people with jobs, families, and busy lives who still show up to build something better. Iβm working hard to be someone theyβre proud to stand behind.
05.07.2025 16:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Transit frequency matters. When service is reliable, we use it β without overthinking. But long waits and limited schedules hold people back. We need shorter waits, better connections, and a system that respects your time. Whatβs your experience with transit in Calgary?

BRIAN THIESSEN FOR MAYOR Π―ΠΠ CALGARY PARTY Building a Bold Future We need to build a transit system that keeps up with Calgary. That means: β’ Building the entire Green Line - from south to north including restoring the downtown tunnel β’ Connecting our airport to rail. β’ Expanding MAX routes across the city β’ Investing in smart upgrades like signal priority and real-time info to make service faster and more reliable.
BRIAN THIESSEN FOR MAYOR Π―ΠΠ CALGARY PARTY 2 A Transit System that Respects the Rider Better transit doesn't always mean new routes - it means smarter service that works for riders. β’ Boost frequency and reliability so riders aren't stuck waiting. β’ Improve connections with better pathways, signage, and bike parking. β’ Use real-time data to drive decisions and improve access across the city.
BRIAN THIESSEN FOR MAYOR Π―ΠΠ CALGARY PARZY 3 Safety by Design Transit should feel safe, day or night - for every rider, every route. β’ Increase peace officer presence, improve lighting, and install more CCTV and help posts to deter crime and respond faster. β’ Support transit operators with safety measures and mental health resources. β’ Tackle root issues by linking safety, housing, and public health strategies - because safety starts before someone boards a bus.
BRIAN THIESSEN FOR MAYOR ΠΠΠ CALGARY PARZY Make Using Transit Easier Let's make Calgary Transit easier, faster, and smarter for everyone. β’ Boost frequency on LRT and MAX lines so riders never wait more than 10 minutes - 15 hours a day, 7 days a week. β’ Expand real-time tracking and alerts so riders can plan with confidence, even during delays. β’ Upgrade signage and station maps so getting around is simple and intuitive.
These seem like very reasonable things to do, and will make getting around Calgary on public transit better by improving safety, increasing frequency of service, and building a connected
City. Well done, @briantyyc.bsky.social @inamteja.bsky.social @hmcrae.bsky.social @alexwilliamsyyc.bsky.social
Living near transit can save you up to $10K a year. It also means shorter commutes, more time at home, and cleaner air. Letβs build smarter. Curious what youβre spending on transport? Use this tool to find out:

Fantastic @criticalmassyyc.bsky.social tonight. Grateful to have this to experience with Sam.
Riding in the cityβs core while in the mass is an experience like no other: controlled environment, joyful, safe.
Thanks, ride leads and corkers!
Great day of doorknocking in Cedarbrae yesterday! Thank you to all the volunteers coming out with us and all the lovely people sharing their hopes, worries, and dreams for the city with me.

Thatβs what I keep in mind when we talk about infrastructure and mobility. Iβm pushing for practical solutions that reflect how Calgarians move β now and into the future.
Politics doesnβt need more finger-pointing β it needs real problem-solvers. Iβm focused on:
π Improving transit with data + rider input.
π Building housing near transit.
π οΈ Smarter budgets + infrastructure that fits how we live today.
