But I don’t recall your biological father being mentally compromised when he demolished your family trust. So it’s hard to imagine him being “worm-tongued” but rather a participant.

I think you mentioned your living biological brother is very transactional. Could this have been more of a calculated investment on his part? He doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that does things out of the kindness of his heart.

Nothing you’ve written seems to indicate this person is actual family. Just someone raised in the same house and with more shared DNA than most. He doesn’t even bother to feign empathy. He doesn’t deserve you either. I’m so sorry.

I’m so sorry for your loss…not just of your father’s life, but of what he meant to you and for your chances to reconcile this with him. What he did was cruel and cowardly. He didn’t deserve you.
