James, unfortunately, listened to the same advice his producer Peter Asher was giving Linda Ronstadt: "There are already so many good songs. Just re-record those and we'll make a mint!"

Well, I just checked - our #AT40 timeline is still frozen. Thanks to everyone who slugged their way through the barriers to communicate & share. Better luck next week?

An underrated skill.

I think it was on VH-1. Lots of musicians appeared on camera throughout the series (but none of them made such a stupid inference - especially since so many of them made their fortunes in the 70's!) Probably 20 or so years ago.

Yeah, they ended their episode on the 60's playing that Bread song, full of self-righteous despair over the oncoming fluff they felt was the 70's. The heavy-handed editorial comment was to decry the "It don't matter to me" generation 🙄

So much good stuff from 1970, but, when I think of that year, there's only one album which comes to mind. Still reeling in despair and disbelief that fall of '70 over the break-up. #AT40

I remember some BS doc series purporting to be the "history of rock & roll." As they hailed the bands of the 60's, and their chronology switched to the 70's, they played Bread's "It Don't Matter To Me" to sniff about how we'd left the ideals of the 60's behind. Go f**k yourselves, doc makers! #AT40

Wow. "The Partridge Family" had only debuted about 6 weeks earlier in that fall of 1970. And, here's "I Think I Love You" already more than halfway up the #AT40 chart!

AND it's clear Elon has ramped up their algorithms to artificially boost every vomit of right-wing BS. Never seen so much bile showing up high in my timeline.

Yeah, our timeline is still inoperative. And, the "Discover" page is so random. We see some very fresh posts, but then right below is something else from an hour ago. And then those recent posts from our team get buried or disappear... THANKS, BLUESKY.
