How do people find anything funny?

Reading recent books it sorta surprises me how often their text uses metaphor and analogy to just spell out the themes of their work

It makes me feel like my writing style is very matter-of-fact and leaves the “finding connections” up to reader

trying to make it perfect is a death sentence

but just making stuff so much that having made anything at all feels passe seems very helpful as a creative

not every story should be a child

some should be pets or toys covered in teeth marks

like i'm far too emotionally invested in the vision of Insect Engine to ever give it to a publishing house

but now that i'm good at writing i could probably scribble out a few i don't mind giving up

after i get the current run of Insect Engines book done (currently planning 5 books so expecting this to take another year at least) maybe i'll start making books with the intent to like... sell them

there's been a very big uptick in kernel downloads lately and i feel like it has nothing to do with me.

it feels like i am hearing rats in my wall but for my game

honestly, trying to please a following where it was hard to differentiate between who i actually wanted to impress and who i had to just tolerate

was really increasing my passive bitterness

and taking the time to just be like "fuck it" feels so good
