I asked someone to explain to me how flip flopping on international agreements doesn't make us weak. You were explaining. Therefore, I assumed you were telling me how that doesn't make us weak.

So what I'm hearing is that all these actions are considered political moves, but due to my ignorance and my lack of following international politics I don't understand how they are actually in the best interest of our nation?

This seems like a problem to me, since our presidents change so quickly. Why would a country ever enter into any talks with us again? You don't build a bridge to a sandbar.

How is it that the president, on his authority alone, can pull out of international agreements? Legally, our country treats them like a handshake with an individual president?

We went from being that friend who will always help you move and you can count on to feed you cat, to being that cousin who looks cool in sunglasses but who would absolutely let your fish die.

OK, please explain this to me like I'm 5. If the US pulls out of the Paris Accords, and the WHO, and we stop delivering international aid, doesn't that just teach others we will flip flop every 4 years? No one will make an agreement with us ever again if our word only lasts 4 years.

Oh, so this is what it feels like when you can't trust the government and you no longer know what is truth and what is lies. 😬
