Yes, it was really interesting to learn that TigerBeetle was inspired by research out of UW–Madison on storage faults.

I’ve also heard great things about their database group.

PyPack Trends uses SQLite as a caching layer in front of BigQuery. 13.5 GiB to store all of PyPI weekly downloads data.

The SQLite file is hosted on the same VPS as the backend, with indexes in place to optimize for low latency point queries.

Listening to @oxide.computer and friends backlog, the "Surviving Conventional Wisdom" episode, got me thinking.

The wisdom "the more senior you get, the more opinionated you should be" often leads to strong opinions about things that don’t matter. Much more important to choose your battles.

Took DuckLake for a spin on Supabase and Supabase Storage

Almost exact same setup as my tutorial I did last year besides a minor change in the attach command to use ducklake
