PyPack Trends uses SQLite as a caching layer in front of BigQuery. 13.5 GiB to store all of PyPI weekly downloads data.

The SQLite file is hosted on the same VPS as the backend, with indexes in place to optimize for low latency point queries.

Listening to @oxide.computer and friends backlog, the "Surviving Conventional Wisdom" episode, got me thinking.

The wisdom "the more senior you get, the more opinionated you should be" often leads to strong opinions about things that don’t matter. Much more important to choose your battles.

I always see storage cost as a main reason for a data lake(house) architecture but most data warehouses charge the same for storage as any object storage provider.
