SHARE trial compared 66 Gy in 33 fxs vs. 65 Gy in 26 fxs for salvage RT for biochemical recurrence after prostatectomy. The cohort has not yet matured for the primary outcome. Moderate hypoRT with 65 Gy was associated with increased GI toxicity. #ProstateCaner

Feasibility Study of a Novel Stent‐Based Low‐Level Laser Therapy Device for Reducing Severe Radiation‐Induced Oral Mucositis Objectives Radiation-induced oral mucositis (RIOM) is a severe complication of radiotherapy (RT) for head and neck cancers, impairing quality of life and treatment adherence. Low-level laser therapy.....

Excited to share that my co-authored article on low-level laser therapy for reducing severe radiation-induced oral mucositis is now published online. I contributed to this work through our department's Quality of Life team. doi.org/10.1002/lsm....

Conclusions
β€’ From phase Il primary study, early RT reduces SRE (30% vs. 2%)
β€’ More work needed to better predict SRE
β€’ Early RT may preserve self-care and functional ability compared to observation
β€’ Benefits emerge after about six months
β€’ Consider prognosis
β€’ Patient-reported outcomes provide insightful and hypothesis-generating findings
β€’ Confirmatory Phase Ill randomized controlled trial (NRG-CC014, PREEMPT) is ongoing
β€’ Has enrolled 48/280 patients

Spontaneous Rib Fractures After Breast Cancer Treatment Based on Bone Scans: Comparison Of Conventional Versus Hypofractionated Radiotherapy Micro-AbstractA bone scan-based retrospective review of 1265 patients with breast cancer who underwent surgery revealed spontaneous rib fractures in 209 patients. Abnormal bone density, chemotherapy, ...

For rib fractures, when the patients followed up with regular bone scan and/or CT (we often do that), the rates get pretty high. Check out this article from Korea by DW Kim. He reported 16.5%. www.clinical-breast-cancer.com/article/S152...

My institution has some experience for 29-30Gy SIB boost, though not evaluated extensively. For breast swelling and chronic edema, this gets more concerns when the patients has large breast, and East Asian population has a tendency to have small breasts.
