2. If every show essentially underperformed by some metric, why does one show get called out amongst the rest as being a failure. Why is that show considered the “floor”.

The whole ‘every new show/property underperformed’ angle is ironic for multiple reasons. 1. If you’re a teacher and ALL your students fail the big test. At what point are you culpable for being a shitty teacher?
