It is literally the greatest strategic blunder of this century.
It's going so well that being served polonium tea is now less likely than "accidentally while cleaning his side arm" alone in his bunker.
@alwayslate.bsky.social
Some guy from Winnipeg. Really bad at this. Things I like - news, gardening, beer, food, & democracy. Those "boring political things" matter.

No thanks, Forbes.

I'm hopeful it will be done properly, but the history of energy generation projects suggests a different pattern.

That means he got a bunch other cops to agree a number of times. So common that they'd do it for mere gift cards/booze.... but, no. Totally not a widespread issue. Pay no attention to any other officer not explicitly mentioned in this case.
This is a disaster. Can the governor call up the state's national guard to support disaster relief and law enforcement??

You're probably right, numbers likely much higher.
But 2025 seems to be below 2024 stats.

But they have a trillion dollar trade surplus. Export is how they fuel their economy.
I just don't see them wanting to build a factory in Canada, or really doing any investing here unless it's for resource extraction... except maybe to support tourism for Chinese nationals.
In 2025, about 14,090 zero emission vehicles were sold in Canada.
We just agreed to allow import of "up to" 49,000 Chinese EVs.
Seems China exporting EVs (rather building a factory here) is more than enough to meet market demand.
China's competitive advantage is cheap labour.
They want to increase export of EVs made in China, as profit margins are higher and their own domestic demand for new cars is starting to slow.
Seems really unlikely they would build a factory, pay Cdn wages, for a market the size of Fujian province.
