Opinion: <y> or <j> for /j/? #conlang

Being at work seems to bring out my creative side, just when I am too busy to do anything about it.

What’s on my mind right now:
Is “devour” eat+augmentative or maybe eat+wild?

I have been scribbling down some grammar. There is that. But I will have to type it all up when I get home anyway. /flails around like a muppet.

I left my computer home while visiting family this week. It has slowed my cursed conlanging. Home tomorrow night.

I had quite a bit worked out for last year’s Cursed Conlang Circus, but I didn’t finish it in time. I thought I would revive it for this year, but I couldn’t find the documentation…
…until last night!

But is it cursed? :)

I’m torn between making my cursed conlang absolutely, hideously convoluted and making it simple but abysmally ambiguous. #conlang

I was going to go to a crochet meet-up, but it is at a coffee shop and I don’t have money for coffee AND I do have a conlang to work on.

Here’s a tiny morsel: nominalization by reduplication. Tat, speak. Tattat, language.

It’s 3:45am. I have a potato in the microwave, as if it were an adequate substitute for a baked potato. I am having a cup of coffee with vanilla ice cream. This moment is okay. Pretty good, even.

Well… If I hadn’t already had an Aidettok word for “rat” I would have made it “dirt-squirrel,” but then I discovered I had used “ret” for “rat” in “flepret” (flap-rat, i.e. “pigeon”). So now squirrels are “triret.”

Any given page in any given notebook… Not sure what this was about, but hey, I can use it.

“Remember and Become”… an odd little motto in an odd little logographic script.

What if time is expressed on a left to right line, so the past is on your left and the future is on your right?

Questions only conlangers ask: Is “remember” to think forward, because you’re bringing the past into the present in your mind, or is it thinking backward because you’re mentally going into the past?

I still exist.
