Michael Kratsios says DEI has led to a loss of public trust in universities

The 20th Amendment is being ignored by the President, who took an oath to uphold the Constitution.
Every NIH person took an oath to “defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic.”
Conduct yourselves accordingly.

Opinion | America Is Learning the Wrong Lesson from Elon Musk’s Success
Intimidation doesn’t elevate performance; it undermines people.
Elon Musk has succeeded in spite of the way he treats others, not because of it.
Belittling is not a leadership strategy—it reflects a lack of self-control. Demeaning doesn't get results—it thwarts productivity.
Disrespect for the status quo can be a virtue. Disrespect for people is a vice.

63 studies: women who assert their ideas, make direct requests, and advocate for themselves are liked less.
They're also less likely to get hired—and it hasn't improved over time.
When will we stop punishing women for violating outdated gender stereotypes?

Validation is very important to traumatized individuals. Emotionally responsible people will support you and validate how you feel so the individual can become a productive person once again for society.. Invalidation does nothing but further victimize the individual.

By letting business leaders redefine the purpose of higher education as job preparation, we have completely eviscerated the value of research and the notion that universities are public goods and should be funded as such. We need to show society our real value, and it’s not narrow job prep.

NIH will eliminate many peer review panels and lay off some scientists overseeing them
Currently, NIH's Center for Scientific Review reviews 66,000 grant applications a year, with panels run by NIH’s separate institutes reviewing the rest.
Under a new plan, the institute-run panels will be eliminated, and many of the scientists overseeing them will be laid off. scim.ag/3QP0FUG

The thing that everyone thinks is nuts, but I absolutely think would work: a presentation that looked like an Apple keynote product launch, but for all the cool shit that the government makes for people. Cancer treatments, national parks, space discoveries, free tax filing, cool new airports.
