I'm not going to name any names here but I'm finding myself increasingly left cold by apolitical self-involved music written and performed by billionaires

(And I say this as someone who used to enjoy such music, but it just seems to hit different now as we're in the midst of our country collapsing)

Which is ridiculous. I'm glad that they are, and it's clear where our media is as a whole

What's happening in Chicago will eventually be in more places. That's a 24/7 story or is the real truth that because it happened to Black folks, you feel bad, but you think you are safe.

The Vice President of the United States used his social media page to tell Joy Reid, a private citizen with no connection to the government, that she should express "gratitude" for how this country has treated her.

Black women remain the most consistent targets in all of this.

I mentioned that what happened in Chicago isn't getting enough attention.

People reply with links to the articles they have seen, including People magazine.

Did we not just spend weeks being inundated with pieces about the dead podcaster. We need that level of energy. Non-stop, flood the zone.

It's rough. My brother is over in Hyde Park, and he works out west.

If a dead podcaster and Jimmy Kimmel could get back to back coverage. An apartment building in the 3rd largest city in America that was attacked by federal agents is worthy of equal attention, if not more.

I've been a wreck all week. Between a personal family matter and Chicago, it has been rough. We lived on South Shore when I was a kid, first place I remember.

Then, I bounced around the NW side as a young adult. I worked for years in Logan Square. Watching home be attacked is hard.

These frozen water folks are everywhere. Including in very white states like Maine.

I have several of their dresses. They can be dressed up or down, and they have pockets. Can't recommend enough.

We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.

I was born and raised in Chicago and lived there for the first 30 years of my life. I still have family there, and watching these jackboots terrorize folks is hard. Knowing we are all at risk of having our communities invaded.
