Dr Walt Kilroy
Why is Sudan back in the news again?
As the country's brutal war takes a new turn, the latest atrocities unleashed on the Sudanese population have been truly shocking.

Sudan war: Survivors of el-Fasher siege tell the BBC about RSF brutality
Harrowing accounts from people who have escaped an RSF assault on the besieged city of el-Fasher.
Appalling testimony (but not surprising) of the atrocities being committed right now in El Fasher in #Sudan by the #RSF. Meanwhile the UAE escapes scrutiny as its main backer

Appreciate Senator Tom Clonan’s review of my new book in The Irish Times.
"Unfinished Empire" shows how Russian imperialism has shaped the fate of its neighbours, from the tsarist conquests to Soviet domination and today’s relentless aggression.

This was an exceptionally good piece of research, on the experiences of enforced encampment policies, seen from the perspective of both refugees and host communities. It looked at Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya, which is now home to nearly 300,000 people.

World Central Kitchen | WCK Forced to Halt Cooking in Gaza as Supplies Run Out
After serving more than 130 million total meals and 26 million loaves of bread over the past 18 months, World Central Kitchen no longer has the supplies to cook meals or bake bread in Gaza.
World Central Kitchen has run out of food to serve in Gaza. Its bakery ("recently the last working bakery in Gaza") is out of flour. There are 100,000+ tons of food in staging areas within driving distance of Gaza, and Israel refuses to let them in wck.org/news/gaza-up...
