Is the 'auphonic.com' encoder the @buzzsprout.bsky.social "mastering" function? Is that what's dors the "de urmming"? Are the chapter points set before or after this process? If the former does the chapter points get recalculated post the mastering process?

Nope - it's the timestamps in the RSS feed. As examined via direct download on computer, audio files is shorter than last chapter markings. So not an @antennapod.org fault.

This week there are no dynamic ads for me in Podnews weekly review, but chapter timings are out again. Wondering if this is an @antennapod.org bug them being out of sync, or if the negative duration of last item is just a miscalculation if the audio and chapter markers are different.

At least Apple with this is doing something largely better than the classic iTunes cross-fade x number of seconds regardless.

In your blog you talk of "commercial radio bashes songs together" of course it's not just the seg point that affects the sound. It's the, often thousands of dollars, they've spent on audio processors that helps (or hinders) the transition.

Screenshot of chapters screen in Antennapod app showing advert inserted into pod
3: @buzzsprout.bsky.social dynamic ad insertion - shows up in the chapters (good) but the rest of the transcription time markers after advert are out by length of advert (bad if you click "follow audio") Chapter marks seems out of step as well, maybe these were just not accurately set? /2

This week @podnews.net review podcast
Observations:
1: @james.crid.land needs to enroll into a British geography night class and stay away from Swindon.
2: I'm concerned that the YouTube algorithm is serving me and James the same content as yet again he references a video I immediately recognise /1

So @james.crid.land hunch that AntennaPod "might not" pick up the comments link to blue sky from the social interact tag seems right. No comments icon for me. Although the RSS may have refreshed before I updated the app so will have a look once tomorrow's podcast lands.

Guess the author of that piece was not around Manchester back then, writing: "Channel M began broadcasting on February 14, 2000, as Manchester Student Television (MSTV)....In 2004...was rebranded as Channel M"
The TV-RSL licence was gained on the back of "student TV" from launch it was Channel M.

On the off chance anyone can ID any of the people in the pictures would be great, beyond Liam Forrestall at the front I'm struggling.

This is from the same collection of tapes etc. that I posted previously, so don't have the full details.
Back in those days the old Oldham Chronicle had a nice line going of selling colour prints of photos that had appeared in the still B&W newsprint paper.

Sunday Nostalgia this week, in photograph form. Local paper picture from a story about Oldham FM mid 90s RSL's (later became The Revolution as full time licence).
I'm guessing a 1996 story about public support as struggling to ID many of the crowd.

Here's part 2 from the same "anorak collection".
Hopefully bluesky doesn't count as a BBC or IBA radio station in the UK so I'm not prohibited from playing a jingle and a bit of the sales promo from the LP.

Spool of audio tape labelled "Caroline revival hour".

On that other place that I'm trying to use less I posted some Sunday Nostalgia - a 1990s Aircheck of a local "RSL" radio station from a collection of various tapes, discs etc I've recently taken custody of.
Some of the bits probably have a wider audience, so thought why not post a few bits here.

Surely the Beeb, along with any sensible business will use custom handles based on domains they own something like @radio1.bbc.co.uk etc.
Seems that could be broadly similar to the old 'blue tick' verified status back in the day on twitter.
