The Wednesday Thriller was 8 one-off plays shown on BBC 1 from 4 August to 22 September 1965. A collection of one off thrillers, each ending with a disturbing twist. The cast included Yootha Joyce, Kenneth Griffith, Sheila Hancock, George Benson, Denholm Elliott, Ronald Leigh-Hunt, Patrick Mower, Nancie Jackson, Lyndon Brook, June Ellis, Murray Melvin, Catherine Lacey, Margaret Tyzack, Daphne Anderson, John Cater, Derek Francis, Colin Jeavons, Ursula Howells, Scott Forbes and Terence Alexander.

Never Say Die is a sitcom set in the Emmott Robinson Ward of the Victoria Memorial Hospital and was broadcast on ITV from 4 August to 8 September 1970. The stories from this series all revolved around the patients on the ward (Mr Hebden, Mr Oliphant, Mr Finucane, Mr Bridge, Corker and Albert. The staff included Sister Ringstead, Nurse Whitethroat and Poniatowski. Peter Tinniswood wrote all six episodes. The former journalist gathered material for the series while working as a hospital porter. The cast were Reginald Marsh, Patrick Newell, Noel Purcell, Larry Noble, Teddy Green, Wilfrid Brambell, Ken Parry, Mary Healey, Hugh Walters and Joan Sanderson. A Yorkshire Television production.

ITV debuted the sitcom Never Say Die. Set in the fictional Emmott Robinson Ward of the Victoria Memorial Hospital. Wilfrid Brambell starred.

IIRC didn't VLS used to ring up Whale on a wind up which Whale hated. Except Whales producer hated him so just let VLS through as it was really funny and would then feign ignorance.

Was just reminded of TV channel Men and Motors, which was utterly bizarre. Did I imagine it or did one programme consist of a couple visiting a lingerie shop together in the first half, then the woman doing an "erotic" dance in the second? So odd.

Yes I/we didn't like her at the time. Shame as to what happened to her subsequently even if her singing wasn't appreciated by all.
