Every time they switch from the pregame show to the game broadcast, Costas will likely be pointing up at the heavens, presumably asking some departed relative for forgiveness for his atrocious performance.

It's baffling to me that, when deciding what to base the plot of their extremely ambitious movie so tied to the biggest motorsport in the world that its name is the sport's logo on, they chose to be precisely one-to-one with arguably the worst racing movie of all time.

Fun fact: In the year Major League would have been eligible, there was a baseball movie nominated for best picture, but it was Field of Dreams.

Other sports best picture noms include Million Dollar Baby, Moneyball, Blind Side, Rocky, Raging Bull, Ford V. Ferrari, Seabiscuit, & Chariots of Fire.

Editing makes sense, as does visual effects & sound, but best picture? It looked stunning, but was the most tropey sports film ever. It had nothing plot-wise that's never been done.
