I’ve liked the Jays my whole life but this year made me a huge fan like never before, even in June and July I knew this team was special. I wish it didn’t have to end like that, but the future is incredibly bright for this team. Maybe soon they can make it back.

I ended up using Gyarados/Salamence/Emboar to get to Rank A. The matchups were almost always rough for me unless there was someone else to bully in the lobby since the meta is dominated by water, dragon, and fairy types like I mentioned. Wasn't that fun for me, not in the FFA format they're using.

With ZA not being traditional turn based battles there was bound to be the same small group of mons that outclass 200+ in the entire dex, and introducing more mons and megas with DLC won't fix that, the meta will just be under new management.

If this game is somehow at Worlds I'm gonna lose my mind

ZA ranked battles are both fun and infuriating at the same time, seems like the meta is just a combination of Gyarados/Greninja/Garchomp/Gardevoir/Ampharos. Incredibly hard to compete if you don't use those. Even then it's very hard to land hits due to using switches/mega evolution to ignore damage.

This is kinda why I'm so glad Pokemon Champions exists soon. Gives them more freedom to just make a great experience with each and every game, rather than trying to please literally everybody with a combination of things like SV and every 3D-era game has.
