Let's spell it out then. The motivation is
1/ empathy for our fellow human beings
2/ to raise the political cost of the British government's complicity to the point where London is forced to withdraw its support, thereby increasing the international pressure on Israel to cease its genocidal acts.

90% of Westminster-Fleet St discourse on the Gaza protests and the pro-Palestine movement more generally can be explained by the sheer desperation of guilty people to change the subject.

Irony being that the entire Farage-isation of British politics is built on the phenomenon of white right-wingers who don't want to "integrate" with the reality of multi-ethnic Britain, don't want to accept migrants as their fellow citizens, and don't want people of colour moving into their street.

“Migrants aren’t underpaying university staff. Migrants aren’t causing high rents. But if politicians keep scapegoating, people start to believe it.”

We need real solutions not distraction.

Apart from the unnecessary hardship this will inflict on individuals, this will be bad for integration and social cohesion, bad for the economy, and will increase irregular migration.

[And, as @robfordmancs.bsky.social has shown, it's hugely unpopular and out of step with the British public]
