Drawing of aquilegia seed heads and leaves in a colours from greens through purples and pinks, browns and blues.

I've just spent half a day making this drawing. It was an intense experience - I was drawing from observation outside - and my body hurts now.

Wow! Those birds...

We can only dream of such vision and skill! I think this one is printed mokuhanga which is woodblock above woodblock. I'll be lucky enough to see a demo of it next Thursday at our York Printmakers group!

Life's been stupid hectic. I've been part of the York Printmakers Festival of Print in a pop-up on High Petergate. I'll be there again, end of August.

Here's my super late #printpromptmonday #earth themed two layer + jigsaw lino print "Wintering" featuring a rabbit and bulbs literally sheltering in the Earth from the gorgeous ravages of winter's cold wind. It's set in the Hole of Horcum!

2nd layer of a lino reduction print - a very pale transparent blue covered with the darker eggshell blues of the egg shadows. The photo shows the block in its registration system of a closely cut to fit grey board and Ternes Burton pins next to the printed second layer.

Can't wait for the rain, we're having such a dry Spring. Although it is giving the plants a head start on the slug munching. This will be an awesome wildflower meadow, good luck!
