Why is computer exhaust heat not as comforting as house radiator heat?

I run around on the internet using my full name and even I know this is a bad idea. Deanonymization will kill many areas of the internet and that is the point of this, not protecting children.

Everyone else is being inconvenienced and when there is invariably a leak of this content it will be one of the biggest PII leaks ever not to mention the fallout from essentially having people's browser history leaked.

Young people trying to get around it will always find a way around it the same way that we used to find ways around school content filters.

I mentioned this briefly on stream the other day but the UKs new mandatory ID checks for "nsfw" content online are a trainwreck.

One piece of software that I'm forced to interact with almost daily but genuinely hate is Miro.

The software equivalent of a black hole. Notes go in and are lost immediately never to be seen again...

So funny that whilst waiting for my fiancée outside her work (I finished earlier than her). One of my fiancée's coworker's boyfriends was doing the same a meter away.

The chat box has also had some upgrades I think the new system works really well we've got so much more to do though we now support emotes :) and I'm working on trading :(

New functionality for the chat box too. We no longer need [GM] or [Mod] next to a name as the chat box now supports icons and emotes.

Today is a strange birthday. I've seen my friends on Saturday but my fiancée had to go back to work in another city yesterday, so I'm starting the day with cake and a book.

Did you know: if you installed Rust with rustup, you already probably have the "Embedded Rust Book" locally. If you run `rustup doc` in your terminal, it'll open the bookshelf with all the docs installed already, including the main rust books as well as the embedded rust book.

I think what's frustrating about this specific situation is that jagex is a British company yet it's being impacted by the US fund that owns them and the staff seem to be annoyed by this as well.

Father's Day grief: Have opt-out emails become a marketing tool? Companies are offering the option to opt out of emails about sensitive occasions like Father's Day.

I've been saying this for years, but surely getting 20 emails that essentially boils down to "do you have a dad or is he dead?" Is 100x worse than any email about father's day offers that likely get routed to spam anyway.
