They were chanting “Peaceful protest!”

Despite this, they were told they had 10 minutes to disperse.

After less than 6 minutes officers rode into the crowd on horseback and fired flash grenades.

What choice are individuals left with when their democratic systems and constitutional rights have failed and authorities are breaching basic human rights?
The protests must be allowed. Dispersal orders should not be given to peaceful protests and officers should not be firing at unarmed protesters

The invasion from federal forces has exacerbated the anger in an already rightfully furious population.
The state is acting illegally and yet individuals are being punished.

People have been peacefully protesting. Then authorities decide (on what basis?) to designate it an unlawful gathering. Then to disperse the protest - which has been deemed illegal (isn’t it a right?) - they are shooting people and gassing them.
Then criminalising people who stand their ground.

Fuck Racism.

But at least the stories they tell are all definitely 100% true. And we can trust them. That’s why they’re stand up folks.

Horrific. It’s obscene seeing him recount history and having learned nothing from it. To see him speak of defending freedom the same day he threatens protesters. Just appalling.

And the coverage here (BBC) called out none of his hypocrisy, fact checked none of his claims.
