I’m viewing that part as a bit of a TBD for the moment, as past comments were not great but there is always room for a change of opinion. Comments re: migrants, the poor, guns etc. are all pretty favorable.

A ★★★½ review of Mississippi Burning (1988) Solid middlebrow fare with spectacular central performances that elevate it quite a bit. 2025 and 1964 look too much alike from where I’m sitting.

First time watch. Pretty middlebrow fare elevated by central performances from a trio of all-time-greats (Hackman, Defoe and McDormand). Would love to see a less sensationalized and fictionalized version of this story made some day.

Gene Hackman Died From Heart Disease a Week After the Death of His Wife, Who Had Hantavirus (Gift Article) The actor’s wife, Betsy Arakawa, died of a respiratory illness, New Mexico officials said. Mr. Hackman had Alzheimer’s, which contributed to his death from heart disease.

What a terribly sad ending. I hope they’re both resting peacefully.
