Yes maternity rights differ for mothers and fathers that's true, pregnancy & maternity is one of the protected characteristics but I think it just says that, rather than saying only women have that protection?

Point 72 so schools should not teach that everyone has a gender identity, but should not encourage pupils to question their gender? So it's not a fact that everyone has a gender & we must teach pupils that, but we also must not encourage the questioning of gender?

Point 70 schools should not teach as fact everyone has a gender identity. Schools should avoid gender stereotyping it says. Great. But gender is still an institution we are socialised into, thus most people inc children develop a gender identity, how will schools challenge children's gender?

Point 69 what legal rights do men have because they are male that women don't have because they are female? What legal rights do female people have that are denied to male people?Everyone has legal protection from sex discrimination, sex is a legal protected characteristic, for everyone.

Hmm, finally working through the updated SRE guidance for next year. Point 68 why are primary schools only "encouraged" to teach about healthy loving relationships inc same-sex parents in families. Why is this not a "should"?
