Excellent article that left me so sad. Of course they cannot recreate what Welles and the actors (and the crew) would have done. You want a new Ambersons? Take all your research for what’s missing, and get the rights for a shot-for-shot remake with great actors and a great director.

This is a fascinating, deeply researched and reported story that goes well beyond "Isn't A.I. terrible?" while keeping one foot firmly planted in "Yes it is."
