Maybe they're not lying but don't know what they're doing, hence why they're calling IT?
A lot of people think "reboot" means closing your laptop lid and opening it again.

See that bright, glowing object with a tail?
That's not a comet.
That's the planet Mercury.
That's how Jarvis Street worked, isn't it?
06.02.2025 12:53 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0With no replacement ferries available and it being so close to the end of the season anyway, the ferry service just shut down.
So that's how one of only two road connections to Prince Edward Island has been cut off for half a year, because a private company can't get its shit together.
Then, in September, MV Confederation sailed into the wharf at Wood Islands, damaging its bow visor and ramp mechanism, and had to be taken out of service for repairs.
Shortly after that, a second engine failed on MV Saaremaa and it also had to be taken out of service.
MV Holiday Island was already due to be replaced, but its replacement isn't expected to be delivered until 2028, so NFL borrowed MV Saaremaa from Quebec.
One of Saaremaa's four main engines broke down this past summer, but it continued operating on the other three engines.
Okay, no misinformation on this platform. Northumberland Ferries Ltd. (NFL), the private entity that operates the essential service (fuck P3s), had two ferries on this route: MV Holiday Island and MV Confederation. Holiday Island caught fire during a crossing in 2022 and had to be scrapped.

Wood Islands ferry dock in Prince Edward Island, Canada, the port of entry from Nova Scotia. Closed for the winter, the ferries had been out of service since summer because one sailed into the dock, and the front fell off the other one or something like that.

My local libraries also lend bicycle repair toolkits, thanks to a nonprofit I work with. We're also working on learn-to-ride programs and trying to get children's push bikes into the libraries.
