Nearly 100 years after her death, Oxford’s first female Indigenous scholar honoured Mākereti Papakura died weeks before handing in her thesis at Oxford university documenting the life and customs of her tribe, work that is still used by Māori today

'In a tragic turn, Mākereti Papakura – believed to be the first woman from an Indigenous community to study at the university – died just weeks before completing her thesis, and in the decades since, her family has fought to have her degree recognised.'

Yesterday, the largest far-right protest in UK history marched through London, led by racist Tommy Robinson.

Today, we say: They don’t speak for us — and they won’t have the last word.

This Wednesday we come together against Trump and for a better future. Do everything to be there.

The judgement explicitly stated that ECHR was not considered in the ruling.

Why don't GCSE resits work?

My thoughts which I also shared on LBC this morning.

This is very insightful. As someone who had to resit, it is demoralising. You feel like a failure. I was able to pass the resit but I still have nightmare as that I’m made to resit my GCSEs. Im 40 and doing a PhD, but still have these nightmares!

It is truly bizarre to me
-- not just misogynistic but like bizarrely
deranged -- to live in a world where you believe that hundreds of women are lying about one man who must be telling the truth.
MY VOICE MY CHOICE

A growing economy is good news, and today's growth figures are actually better than expected, even if below the average since 2000. More broadly, the government is running out of time to put direct support for living standards at the heart of its strategy for growth.

14 years ago, we lost this incredibly talented woman, Amy Winehouse.

I often put on her music when I’m feeling troubled, lost in the world, I misunderstood.

Thank you for the music, Amy .

I would not have been diagnosed in the '80s. I'm female, I was well behaved (at school), I had good grades. Until it was all too much for too long and I crashed. Everyone else was surprised, I'd been steuggling all my life.
