I swear the skill I am cementing the most in ECG class is how to correctly spell “rhythm” and all of its variations

Behold the beauty of my B. Subtilis streak plate. Also I got a 95% on my micro test this week, but really this streak plate is my true pride and joy

I don’t know how I’m supposed to focus on my micro exam today when my prof just dropped that there’s “bright and shiny new microscopes” in our lab this morning. All we are allowed to do is more streak plates today. So cruel. 😭🫶🏻🦠🔬

One of the things I miss the most about my time in Europe was the lack of English spoken anywhere. It was such a calming experience to not be around American drivel.

Since returning to school after many years, I’ve been employing a strategy of fighting for every point for the 1st 2/3 of the semester so I can chill by finals week. It works like a charm—for ex, I just realized if I get a 50% on my next test AND blow off the final, I will still end up with an A.🤓💪🏻

How is it in this now 5th post-COVID-19 year that a healthcare student won’t wear a mask (yet just applied hand sanitizer) in class when they are coughing and snuffling about?
Perhaps their next class should be microbiology.

One of the awesome benefits about doing well in medical terminology is now my dad and I have a secret language. This connection with him and his life’s work is such a gift. 🥰

What am I up to these days?
✅ Conceptual physics
✅ Medical terminology
✅ More Spanish
✅ TA’ing some Anatomy classes
✅ Weightlifting
Also this semester I’ll be applying to a cardiac sonography program. It’s very competitive so 🤞🏻 and devising backup plans.

Cardiology Grand Rounds Speaker Diversity
This cross-sectional study examines data for grand rounds lectures at 42 US institutions to gauge the representation of women among cardiology grand rounds speakers.
Five years ago, as we ⬆️ diversity of Penn Cardiology Grand Rounds with Penn Women in Cardiology, I wondered what the U.S. landscape of Cardiology Grand Rounds speakerships was
Proud to work w/this amazing team to answer this question, now in @jama.com Cardiology

Hard work paid off, 4.0 gpa, Dean’s List, and one of those As was in what has been termed the most difficult Anatomy class in the Bay Area. ✨🍾🥂

Aaand we’re done with physiology! I only got a 70% on the test, but in my defense, I needed a 51% to keep my A in the class so it’s still an overachievement lol

Survived my anatomy final(s)!! And I even got to (correctly) point out how one model was inaccurate. Always fun to be rewarded for being a pedant.

Ok, I got myself a cup of coffee and dug up an old thread for everyone that can’t search the internet.
Sorry I’m grumpy today but I am absolutely exhausted.

Thankful this year for my British in-laws who had no issue whatsoever with my postponing Tday for a few days while I recover from a nasty chest cold.
Not thankful for the unmasked, symptomatic petri dish who spluttered directly behind me all last week in anatomy class.
