Passed my NCCT certification exam yesterday, which means I am a certified phlebotomist!
Next step, externship for licensing! 🦟🧛♀️
The only help I could directly give today was water to a patient’s dog; the dog was a topic of fear for everyone but my thought was, you probably won’t bite of you want water & I give it so risk it for da biscuit. Puppo was thrilled 💪🏻
03.01.2026 01:34 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I made a patient a stuffie today from a pillow and a warm blanket while she waited for inpatient psych to pick her up.
It was infinitely more rewarding than the 88.7% I scored on the TEAS exam yesterday. Both are wins, but one will stick with me forever. 🧸
Today I learned I have a gift for hand draws in phlebotomy. Apparently so did my dad, a fact I didn’t know till today and which makes me feel closer to him. I wish I could ask him for tips on straight draws. I miss him so much, especially in times of connection.

It works like a charm—for ex, I just realized if I get a 50% on my next test AND blow off the final, I will still end up with an A.🤓💪🏻

How is it in this now 5th post-COVID-19 year that a healthcare student won’t wear a mask (yet just applied hand sanitizer) in class when they are coughing and snuffling about?
Perhaps their next class should be microbiology.
One of the awesome benefits about doing well in medical terminology is now my dad and I have a secret language. This connection with him and his life’s work is such a gift. 🥰
