They're one of the top offenders for sending me (as an MPH program director) ridiculous gifts. Like, I'd be pissed if I was paying tuition and they're sending a competing program director (ie I am NOT directing students there) 2 lbs of coffee and a thing of steak seasoning in the past year.

I teach social determinant of health and UBI and induce demand are my two soapboxes where I lose my professorial tone and just go “guyyyyysssss can we stop doing ‘one more study’ and just work on implementation already?!?”

Love this in theory. In practice, I would constantly be brushing against it & walking around like that teacher who always had chalk dust on her arm or backside. 💯 too clumsy to handle this

Once I got east of Michigan it wasn’t that bad, but I had brought a package that I needed to drop off at the UPS store before they closed with me and I was worried I wasn’t going to make it in time!

TBF Mag Mile isn’t a mall (which I agree I’ve also always disliked the experience of). It’s an urban shopping area so you can directly enter stores. That said, I live a couple blocks away and still will choose to go to other locations of stores when I can because it’s so packed with tourists!

Feels like it to me. But I, too, might be on edge.

This is such a worthwhile listen: how incompetent and undisciplined the ICE agents are, how scared they are of regular people. And her message that everyone can do something: the person with the whistle maybe alerts the person who is able to get in their faces, etc.

A location like that—convenient to transit and without having to traverse a miserably huge parking lot—would actually get me to get a membership
