rewatching kino's journey 2003 because i remember watching it (or one of the OVA's, can't remember) when i was a kid and changing my brain chemistry forever and i'm glad it's as good as i remembered it being.

As a character for the story and game he's good but as a 'person' and what he represents in my mind throughout all of the igavanias i have no love in my heart for him. i might even hate him more than Soma.

The more that I think about Albus the more that I hate him, everything from him not ever talking to Shanoa abt dominus and taking things on himself to how the game frames him as so heroic and brotherly, he's just a paternalistic egotistical misogynist and I hate how the game wants me to like him.

im not gonna lie my brain keeps swapping rapidly between "replay rondo of blood for fun" to "play simon's quest" to "100% order of ecclesia and do hard mode level 1 run" castlevania is fun as hell!!

Nahh Shanoa is still my GOAT I will never fall for the Albus propaganda that Koji Igarashi has concocted in his evil dungeon of misogyny.

The slog of a castle really put a sour taste in my mouth and felt almost like a different game. Regardless It's still one of if not my fav of the handhelds that I've played (tied w PoR). I'm finally done with metroidvania and I'll be returning to classic style games which i honestly prefer far more.

before the second half began I considered this above Symphony of the Night since I loved everything so much but after the castle It's kinda neck and neck with Portrait of Ruin for me.

-rude ass villagers. The little sidequests where Shanoa gets hobbies or collects cats were super fun and I enjoyed those ones a lot, this is also the grindiest of all the games I've played though, perhaps by choice. At least an hour of play was spent grinding quest items or glyphs but it was alr.

storywise I'm always gonna have some gripes due to the latent misogyny of every single game IGA has worked on for CV but I can interpret it in a way that makes me enjoy it a lot more, regardless it is the strongest story of every Castlevania of it's kind and I did enjoy all the characters, even the-

The narrative, gameplay, visuals (not 80% of dracula's castle) and ost were all stellar though, I love that the game can be relatively difficult too though most of it was honestly from bosses since swapping damage types made it feel relatively okay, but Shanoa was suuuper squishy the entire game.

Order of Ecclesia is done! I loved this game, its a shame that for the most part the room & level design isn't super unique or interesting but it honestly wasn't a big deal until Dracula's Castle where it really showed how big of an slog that it can be when pushed into a larger scale level.

i sound angrier than i actually am, but the game feels like it's trying to attribute a lot of the success in defeating dracula to albus as opposed to shanoa, i'm still correct in the assessment that iga hates women and doesnt respect their possibility as agents within his games stories unfortunately

"as ecclesia vanished into the mists of time" ah yes, the one canonical dracula slaying woman's achievement full disappears unlike the belmonts and morris's who gain great acclaim type shit whatever LOL

yea iga still doesnt like women but the story of this game is at least pretty good and interesting even if even iga doesnt respect shanoa's agency as a person just like albus and barlowe 😊😊😊😊
